The Complete University Guide has revealed the top universities in the country for student satisfaction. The ranking is based on the results from the National Student Survey, which asks final-year undergraduates to rate a range of aspects of teaching at their university. These responses are used to create an average student satisfaction score for each university.
Both the University of St Andrews and Aberystwyth University held the top spots, ranking 1st and 2nd respectively, for the second year in a row.
As for the Russell Group universities, only one - the University of York - ranked within the top 20 this year. Both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge failed to provide an average student satisfaction score this year so didn't rank at all.
You can find the top 15 universities for student satisfaction below and the full list here.

Dear students and staff, As we prepare to enter a second lockdown, here is an update about how things will and won’t change for you at Marjon. We can confirm: • We will remain open so that education and placements can continue. • We will maintain the planned hybrid learning approach so we will not change your timetable or planned learning due to this lockdown. • The library and other covid-secure learning spaces including the Chaplaincy will remain open and you are welcome to attend campus to use them. • You are allowed to travel for purposes of education, so if you are commuting, please continue to attend university, following guidance for safer travel. • If you have a term-time and a home-time address, you are advised by government to stay at your term-time address and not to visit home for the duration of this lockdown, between Thurs 5 Nov and Fri 2 Dec. We are told to expect further guidance from the Dept for Education shortly, to cover returning home at Christmas and back after New Year (for those students with a different home address). My absolute commitments to students and staff are that: • Marjon is a University where students and staff come first, and so we will do everything we can to keep everyone safe. • At Marjon we are centred on student success, and so we will do everything we can to ensure every student continues to have many opportunities to discover and fulfil their potential. • Marjon is a community of belonging, and we will do everything we can, working closely with the Student Union, to provide students with Covid-secure social opportunities. • Marjon takes very seriously mental and physical well-being, so please do not hesitate to seek for help if you need it in these arduous times. The Students’ Union will host a Q&A and talk with me and the Senior Management Team this Friday and early next week and we will send further details of the times. For more info see Q&As about the latest arrangements on the student hub. Please feed your questions to us via the Students’ Union or via Chatback and we will answer anything we have missed. Let’s do everything we can to get through this together! Prof Rob Warner, Vice-Chancellor.
