If living and working somewhere environmentally friendly is important to you, it's time to pack your bags and move to these cities.

Compare the Market recently carried out research exploring which UK towns and cities are at the forefront of the fight towards a more environmentally friendly world.

Using local and regional data, the research analysed factors including the % of household waste sent for reuse, recycling or composting, air quality, the number of parks per 10,000 people and the number of eco-friendly Google searches, for example 'recycling centre' and 'electric cars'.

Bristol came out on top, with a high score for recycling and air quality and number one for eco-friendly Google searches.

Below you can find the top 10 greenest towns and cities in the UK, and you can find the full list here.
