6 graduates who have made it in London, and how you can too

Sarah Lawson
Social and CRM Executive

We travel across the UK to meet graduates and hear about their graduate stories. Below are 6 grads we found working in London; find out how they got their role, what it was like applying, and all about their continual progression since. You can learn about what a company is truly like both inside and outside of the office before you even apply.

1. Periscopix: Tower Bridge, SE1

We spoke to Alex and found out that his role in PPC Marketing was ‘something that really stood out’ for him. What he enjoys most about Periscopix is the people: he told us 'I love the people that I work with and everyone works really well together’.

2. Nicoll Curtin: Monument, EC3

Rakim started 2016 as a Consultant with Nicoll Curtin. He told us all about working to targets, the world of Recruitment and the career progression that is on offer.

3. Populus: Clerkenwell, EC1

We met the Populus team in Islington to find out what working in a Market Research agency involves. Phillipa told us about travelling across the UK and conducting in-depth interviews. As a graduate, Phillipa really enjoys that she can ‘see an idea all the way from the ground up’.

4. Zenith Optimedia: Goodge Street, W1

Leticia told us about her move to London and why she wanted to join Zenith Optimedia. ‘I was living in Spain and working on the client side and I always wanted to work in a big agency and work with different clients and worldwide.’

After applying for the role, interviewing and getting an offer she made the move: ‘I packed my stuff, moved to London and in two weeks I was here, found an apartment and joined the company’.

5. Linux Recruit: Monument, EC3

We went to film Linux Recruit and spoke with Luke about his career since joining the company as a graduate over two years ago. He has enjoyed promotions and all the perks of working in a London based consultancy: ‘We have monthly lunches… you go to places like The Shard, we’ve also been to San Francisco’.

6. Capita: St James’ Park, EC2

Carly was looking for a ‘new challenge’, so she applied for the Capita Graduate Programme and started her role in Marketing in 2014. Carly told us all about the various graduate opportunities on offer and that she has benefited from ongoing support from her team.

The companies that we meet see the value of you joining their team and want to invest in your future. They understand that your career is more than just a job title and a salary, but an integral part of your lifestyle. Bring your fresh ideas, bring your enthusiasm and explore opportunities that you never knew existed.
