We are Vivo Energy plc

Our focus is on fuelling Africa’s future
We are a leading Pan-African fuel retailer, operating under the Shell and Engen brands, in high growth markets. We source, distribute, market and supply high quality products and services to our customers, setting new standards for safety, innovation and service, wherever we operate.
We have recently gone through a rapid period of change – listing on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges in 2018, and completing an acquisition in March 2019 that added operations in eight new countries. Today we have over 2,400 Shell and Engen-branded service stations across 23 African markets.

Our core values are honesty, integrity and respect for people
They underpin all the work we do and are the foundation of our business. We uphold these values in everything we do: they are crucial to our success and growth as a company, and to achieving our vision of becoming ‘Africa’s most respected energy business’.
Joining Vivo Energy as a graduate, you can expect to find a vibrant business environment, where your opinion is valued and the necessary resources are provided to help you produce great results.
What you can expect
Whilst we have around 2,700 people based in Africa, our London team is made up of around 20 people. This means that you will have far more access to the business than most: from chatting about the industry with our CEO over a lunchtime sandwich to being pulled in to support business critical activity, no two days will be the same.
High performing leaders will be on hand to support you through coaching and help you grow, with learning opportunities along the way. We believe that working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds helps to add dynamic ideas and experiences to the mix every day.
Our office, just a stone’s throw from London Victoria station, is COVID-19 secure, and follows the latest government guidelines.
The team is currently working in a hybrid way, spending a minimum of two days per week in the office to ensure important face-to-face engagement with colleagues. We continue to monitor the situation and may change working arrangements as necessary. When not physically in the office, our team is well connected and speaks regularly. You would be provided with a company laptop and phone headset.
We like to have fun too, and recently went on a cookery school experience, preparing and eating our own supper. Before the pandemic, other adventures included climbing trees at Go Ape, a trip to the races, a wine tasting competition and – given our office spans many different nationalities – a heritage day where we all brought in our national dish, which we shared over lunch.

Our people want to make a difference
To succeed at Vivo Energy you need to take part, show initiative, make decisions and always look for ways to do things better. We’re looking for people who think smarter, understand our vision and the wider commercial picture, and have an insatiable curiosity about the business: people who want to make a difference and have the energy, professionalism and drive to challenge convention, motivate others and achieve more.
