Our Culture - What we do

Life today is built around connectivity. Through an ever-expanding range of products and services, we provide broadband, mobile and TV to customers in 180 countries.

Through us, millions of people connect with friends and family, share huge amounts of information and enjoy a world of entertainment at their fingertips.

In the UK, the entire telecoms industry operates across our networks, whilst our technology powers international establishments such as the New York Stock Exchange.

Founded in 1846, we are the longest established communication company in the world. Back then, the goal was to make communication possible within minutes and hours, instead of days and weeks.

We’ve come a long way since. Today, we work in global offices, stretching from Sao Paolo to Sydney. We’re now the fourth most valuable brand in the UK and 58th in the world, and we have exciting plans to keep growing.

Our BT Academy provides structured, tailored training to our graduates that is based on the world’s best thinking.

This enables our team to continue their own professional development by studying towards accredited qualifications alongside their training.

With a focus on personal development as well as professional training, every employee has an allowance of holiday per year to spend on volunteering activities for a cause of their choice.

At BT we have one of the largest corporate property estates in the UK, including offices, data centres, telephone exchanges, distribution warehouses as well as shops. We also have our own TV studio, a TV platform and as of 2016 have joined with EE, which is the UK’s largest mobile phone company.

With such a large company, the social network here is truly exceptional. Take part in the "Gradiator" challenge across the Peak District, join our annual ski trip or take part in regular events such as the monthly pub quiz.   • Moved from Northern Ireland to London to join BT in September 2016

  • Currently Product Manager in the Digital Team as part of the Marketing Graduate Programme

  • Manages the marketing presence of BT Sport, BT TV and BT.com

I’m a true Yorkshire girl… but I decided to make the move down to London to join the BT grad scheme because of its brilliant reputation.
