Become an integral part of the Communications team for this international brand and manage social media, market intelligence and more.
The primary role of the Communications function is to build the Vivo Energy brand: to make employees and future employees proud and motivated, to earn the respect of stakeholders, and to build a reputation which makes us a trusted industry leader wherever we do business. Additionally we also support the retail and commercial, customer-facing brand.
You will support the Group Communications team across a broad range of activities in five key focus areas: Internal Communications, Digital & Social Media, Media Relations & External Communications, Community Investment, and Business Partnering. You will also have the opportunity to focus on Market & Competitor Intelligence activity.
The Group Communications team is small, providing an opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities including, but not limited to, the following:
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who can demonstrate an interest in Communications and Market Intelligence, ideally with applicable previous work experience.
The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of the oil & gas industry, particularly in relation to the industry in Africa. A good grasp of verbal and written French is a bonus, but not required.
We have an unmissable 12-month fixed term opening for graduates looking for their first step on the career ladder.
Focused on fuelling Africa’s future, we make our customers’ lives easier and their experience with us more convenient, enjoyable and rewarding. We offer high-quality products and services to our customers, setting new standards for safety, innovation and service, wherever we operate.
We are the company behind the Shell brand in Africa. We source, distribute, market and supply Shell fuels and lubricants to retail and commercial customers across the continent.
Our core values are honesty, integrity and respect for people. They underpin all the work we do and are the foundation of our business. We uphold these values in everything we do: they are crucial to our success and growth as a company, and to achieving our vision of becoming ‘Africa’s most respected energy business’.
Whilst we have 2,000 people based in Africa, our team in London is much smaller with around 15 people in the office. This means that you will have far more access to the business than most: from chatting about the industry with our CEO over a lunchtime sandwich to being pulled in to support business critical activity, no two days will be the same.
Joining Vivo Energy as a graduate, you can expect to find a vibrant business environment, where your opinion is valued and the necessary resources are provided to help you produce great results.
High performing leaders will be on hand to support you through coaching and help you grow, with learning opportunities along the way. We believe that working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds helps to add dynamic ideas and experiences to the mix every day.
We have Friday drinks in the office at the end of the week and every couple of months the social committee will arrange an activity. Recent adventures have included climbing trees at Go Ape, a trip to the races, a wine tasting competition and – given our office spans many different nationalities – a heritage day where we all brought in our national dish which we shared over lunch.
To succeed at Vivo Energy you need to take part, show initiative, make decisions and always look for ways to do things better. We’re looking for people who think smarter, understand our vision and the wider commercial picture, and have an insatiable curiosity about the business: people who want to make a difference and have the energy, professionalism and drive to challenge convention, motivate others and achieve more.
