Be a Project Support Officer

This role would be ideal for a graduate with an interest in working in Local Government.

Location: London

Duration: 4 months initially 

What you will be doing

This 4 month internship will provide the successful intern with an insight across all departments within the London Borough of Redbridge and is an excellent opportunity to be involved in high level, high profile projects within the Change team. This will also be a great opportunity for the graduate to work in a dynamic and vibrant environment.

The role is based at the Council offices in Ilford, so please ensure travel to this location is possible.

The graduate intern will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and will assist in the in the delivery of a number of elements of each project which include:

  • You will support the Project Manager with the day to day project decisions to ensure the project is on track to deliver the expected benefits
  • You will undertake research and obtain information, evaluate data to produce reports/information to inform decisions and support recommendation
  • You will be involved with stakeholder engagement and communications
  • You will conduct business analysis
  • You will develop and maintain key project documentation
  • You will support strategy development for new projects and initiatives

What you will have

We accept all degrees but you must show a clear interest in change and local government.

  • You are able to demonstrate a clear passion and interest in change
  • You are a self-starter, there will be training at the beginning of the placement but the successful intern will have the opportunity work on high profile projects
  • You have a clear hardworking attitude and a willingness to work hard - this role will provide the graduate the opportunity to learn and grow so Redbridge are looking for an intern who is eager to make the most out of this internship
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have an ability to prioritise project deliverables within the specified timeframes
  • You have confident IT and literacy skills 
  • You have good time management and organisation skills and the ability to drive the project forward within an agreed framework with minimum supervision 
  • You have a willingness to embrace a range of project methodologies
