Be a Project Support Intern

The key objective of this role is to assist with the smooth transition of the commercial activity of the UK trading arm to a new branch located in Geneva.

Location: London

Duration: 12 weeks (3 months)

What you will be doing

You will support the Vice-President Business Development and the Front-Office department in a complex and fast paced environment. The key objective of this role is to assist with the smooth transition of the commercial activity of the UK trading arm to a new branch located in Geneva. You will mainly be involved with administrative support of the task force preparing and updating support documents.

This will involve project coordination and assistance to a Task Force devoted to this move project. The Task Force is constituted of representatives of all London departments, you'll have the opportunity to interface with all activities and gain a good understanding of the inside of the organisation of a gas and power trading company.

A large part of the job will consist of coordination between the commercial teams and the Legal support to organise all notification to existing contracts. There are several activities (gas, LNG, power, emission certificates, petcoke, sulphur) and type of business (trading on exchanges, financial trading, physical trading on gas and power networks, maritime trading for LNG, petcoke and sulphur), close to one thousand counterparties and several thousands of commercial contracts active.

What you will have

The position is within the Trading floor, open plan office. It’s very active environment, the candidate needs to be able to focus on tasks and multi task.

Fast paced trading environment requiring the jobholder to be able to work both autonomously and within a team. Position requires daily interaction with other departments within the organization. Industry and contractual deadlines to be respected.

  • You are degree qualified in a relevant subject – technical & commercial degrees preferred
  • You have strong excel skills and able to quickly understand inhouse IT systems
  • You have organisational skills are essential for this role
  • You have some understanding of contractual obligations
  • You have analytical capabilities, especially in energy markets and in a broader economical field
  • You are a team player who works well with internal team(s), partners and external stakeholders
  • You are fluent in French and English (preferred but not required)
  • You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
