Onwards to our company and culture…

We are Modulr

A new breed of FinTech, breaking new ground within the payments sector.

We are in a digital age when businesses need to move money 24/7 instead of operating within regular banking hours. Modulr develops cutting-edge API-first solutions that enable businesses to overcome these challenges and take control of their money. Companies are under mounting pressure to manage their cashflows, control their costs, comply with regulations and handle complex supplier, customer and employment payment arrangements. New business models require accurate and real-time data and decisions, and customers demand instant access to services and funds. Regulatory change is accelerating, opening up new opportunities as well as creating more complexities.

We’ve already moved £10.8 billion of our customers money, including huge players like Sage and Revolut. We’ve recently raised £35 million in funding and we’re backed by several private equity firms.

This year we are kicking off our first ever Software Development graduate programme. You'd be joining a fast growing team split across Edinburgh and London, with a broad range of experience from graduate through to 20+ years.

We are the engine behind the Modulr product - we design, build, test and release the Modulr Platform – delivering high-scale and high-performance systems based on cloud technologies.

We translate the product features in to working software and deliver this to market to give benefit to our customers. Our teams are made up of Frontend engineers, Java engineers and Test engineers, who work together in small (4-8 people) Agile teams - each responsible for their own work. We work in 2-week sprints with a software release at the end of each sprint. We use Scrum to plan our work and hold retrospectives to make process improvements. Our customer portal uses Angular which talks to our back end API which is written in Java along with SpringBoot to get us going quickly. Our database is Aurora, hosted in AWS along with all our other cloud technologies. We have several code repositories, all stored in Git and Jenkins controls our release process
