Be an Insight Consultant

You will act as a ‘bridge’ between the Consumer Insight and Business Insight teams and provide a holistic understanding of the core McDonald’s customer.


Location: East Finchley

What you will be doing

The Business Strategy and Insight Team (BSI) has two sub-teams (Consumer Insight and Business Insights. This role will sit within Consumer Insight but will have responsibility that bridges the two teams.

BSI is responsible for customer and commercial insights for the UK and Republic of Ireland business.

  • You will be the go to person for insights and evidence points that represent the needs, attitudes and behaviours of our customer
  • You will lead key programmes of work that measure customer behaviour and satisfaction with the McDonald’s offer
  • You will own the day to day running of continuous research programmes of work (Brand Health and Customer Satisfaction, Advertising, Trend watching, Customer Sentiment, Corporate Social Responsibility, Global programmes, Subscriptions, Internal Sales), ensuring the business maximises the value of the programmes and builds outstanding working relationships with our agency partners
  • You will analyse and report on key programmes of work (across internal sales, research and 3rd party information)
  • You will help create a holistic view of the customer based on specified briefs or topics
  • You will mine internal data sources to create hypotheses for further investigation
  • You will work alongside other business functions (principally Marketing and Food Development) to create customer centered briefs to inspire creative development and food innovation
  • You will work with agency partners to deliver research programmes to plan and budget

What you will have

Note: this role is maternity cover for 12 months.

  • You have project management experience, be comfortable with numbers and have strong attention to detail
  • You have good appreciation of research techniques and approaches
  • You have an ability to translate research data into insights and business questions into research objectives
  • You are able to multitask in a fast-paced environment is fundamental Strong evidence of proactivity and initiative
  • You have a curious mind set, confident, independent and logical thinker
  • You have strong communication and social skills
  • You have strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • You have a passion for food and retail
  • You are educated to degree level
