Become an Assistant Credit Controller

Ideal for an organised, self-motivated graduate who wants to progress their accounting career. 


Location: City of London, London

What you will be doing

You will be part of a Credit Control team of at least four (part of a larger Accounts department), reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

  • You will assist the existing Credit Controllers with managing the sales ledgers
  • You will liaise with clients to obtain purchase orders and booking reference Numbers to allocate to sales invoices
  • You will send statements to clients of outstanding sales invoices
  • You will call clients to chase payment of aged debt
  • You will allocate cash receipts on accounting software
  • You will allocate receipts, through remittance information or interrogating third party vendor systems or self-bill clients
  • You will identify rate queries or areas of dispute and notify Credit Control colleagues

What you will have


  • Essential Skills and Experience   
  • • Accounts role experience, with exposure to sales ledger
  • • Well organised and self-motivated
  • • Problem solving skills
  • • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Desirable Skills and Experience   
  • • Experience of working in the Recruitment sector
  • • Experience in using Sage 50, databases and online timesheet systems
  • • Accounts or Maths related Degree
