What you will be doing

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will be working on a range of projects with varied teams, developing both your professional and personal skills.

Some of the tasks you can expect to be doing include: 

  • You will visit sites to undertake structural inspections
  • You will undertake structural surveys of commercial and domestic properties
  • You will write up client reports
  • You will work on structural engineering designs under the guidance of senior engineers

What you will have

The ideal candidate will have had previous site experience, for example: a placement or an internship during your studies.

Experience in the following is desirable:

  • • Design calculations in steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • • Working knowledge AutoCAD and CAD packages
  • • Experience of Structural Inspections
  • • Working with a range of building structure projects
  • • Good working knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards
  • • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • • A clean driving licence and use of a car is essential
