What you will be doing

During the programme, you’ll gain knowledge and experience to build your understanding of our business, our customers, and the wider insurance industry. You’ll work in up to four different rotations, including embracing at least one customer-facing placement within one of our inspirational contact centres. In addition, you could be working in Risk, HR, Finance, Commercial or other areas. Plus, we’ll support you as you study towards gaining a CII qualification. From day one, you’ll be encouraged, supported and listened to. You’ll take ownership of dynamic projects – and enjoy on-the-job training and workshops, to develop your skills and gain optional qualifications. You will be constantly assessed throughout the programme and if you shine you'll have the chance to move into a permanent position… so could this be your launchpad to the very top of DLG.

What we'll give you

It all starts with an ambitious £28,150 base salary which will grow as you do – with an annual pay increase on the anniversary of your start date. A £2,500 joining bonus and you'll enjoy 25 days’ holiday with the option to buy or sell up to five days. What’s more, your benefits are flexible.

What you will have

We’re looking for Graduates with a 2:1 degree in any discipline, with the potential to become one of the future leaders of our growing organisation in the insurance industry. We want you to be able to relate, by being self and socially aware, be a complex and creative thinker and have the resilience and self-efficiency to deliver on what's needed. We need someone who can see new and different possibilities and who can take a collaborative approach. We also need flexibility, as you may need to relocate up to 4 times during the rotational programme, so you're able to experience more of our teams and engaging offices across the UK.

Who you'll be working with

Throughout our graduate rotational programme you'll establish a strong network of support across our business. You'll build relationships with our current leaders and the diverse people who already make our team a success. They in turn will help you flourish in the role, by nurturing your potential and giving you the tools to shine.

Onwards to our company and culture…

We are Direct Line Group

Diversity at Direct Line Group

02:03

When we started back in the 80s, getting insurance was a long, complicated business. You had to go through a broker and it was all a bit of a pain.

So, we decided it should be easier, by offering insurance over the phone. That's how we started the direct insurance revolution – and with strong values, distinctive brands and great people, we’re still leading the way today. Now, we're home to some of the nation's best-known brands, including Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege, Green Flag and NIG.

We’re an organisation with a clear mission: to make insurance easier and better value for our customers. So, we’re providing amazing, evolving products and services that are just what people need, with amazing, evolving careers for people like you.

We offer a wide range of careers from our Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes to roles in IT, HR, Marketing, Finance, Underwriting, Property, Claims and Customer Service to name but a few.

You can also visit our live discussion platform https://directlinegroupcareers.career-inspiration.com/app/home/ where you can read our colleagues’ stories and ask them a question, this will help you learn more about us and be better prepared for your application and interview.

Always something different!

Our Values

Our corporate values are behind the way we do business every day and, because everyone here helped to set them, everybody follows them. So, if you’re thinking of joining us, it helps if you share these values, too:

Do the right thing - Build sustainable outcomes not processes. Think commercially and choose the right path for our customers, our people and wider stakeholders.

Aim higher - Be ambitious to achieve even better results. Have confidence, innovate and try new things. Embrace change to deliver for each other, our customers and our shareholders.

Work together - Nobody has all the answers. Collaborate and draw upon the diverse skills across our business. Trust each other and focus on customer outcomes to beat our competitors.

Take ownership - Own our success by getting things done. Take the initiative and be accountable. Be curious and own your development and performance.

Say it like it is - Challenge drives progress. Your input matters so have the courage to say what you think and the patience to listen to others. Keep it simple and customer focused.

Bring all of yourself to work - Diversity delivers better outcomes. Be the real you and celebrate difference. Respect others, have fun and make this a great place to be.

Company Mission

Our vision is a world where insurance is personal, inclusive and a force for good. We help people carry on with their lives, giving them peace of mind now and in the future. We do that by providing amazing, evolving products and services that are just what people need. And amazing, evolving careers for people like you!
