  • You will round off your experience of your chosen city by publishing your pieces in a professional quality City Travel Review guidebook. This will carry an International Standard Book Number, meaning you can reference this in your university work, gain course credits, or simply use it to boost your portfolio
  • You will have the chance to gain University or Employment credits, plus some teams sell their guide and keep all profits made. We also provide verbal and written references and a certificate as proof of tasks undertaken
  • You will benefit from ample networking opportunities that could open up doors to longer term posts.

We are City Travel Review

The award winning team helping aspiring writers and passionate travellers to broaden their creative work experience, as well as their cultural horizons.

Our Culture - What we do

City Travel Review provides work, travel and formal education opportunities for undergraduates, graduates and young professionals.

We organise 3-12 week placements in exciting European cities, during which they are supported to produce a professional travel guide about the area. Whether you want to take a break from your normal routine, learn a new skill or take on a new challenge, our programmes offer a cocktail of study, work and a lot of fun.

Our most popular destination for UK participants is Berlin. One of Europe's most dynamic, cosmopolitan and creative cities, Berlin is a vibrant, quirky city, filled with fashion, art, design, music and a relaxed attitude. No other city has been so dramatically split and reintegrated in such a short space of time. The eastern parts are now true centres of artistic and cultural activity.

We also offer placements in Edinburgh. The city of storytellers and ghost tours, it's a wonderful place to live thanks to a calendar packed with events. A relatively small city, veined with a maze of wynds and cobbled streets, it’s delightful to walk around. Plus, there is beautiful countryside, including Arthur's Seat, on its doorstep and the Highlands are only a short drive north.

Our aim is to do something different and a little daring in a fairly short space of time. We host workshops, taught by people who love their cities, aimed at providing our Researchers and Reviewers with knowledge about their new home and the tools to develop their own skills.

Our programmes are well organised, while also maintaining the thrill and excitement of doing something new. That's why we were recently awarded 'Best for Educational Working Projects 2016' by the AI Business Excellence Awards.
