Our innovative marketing campaigns connect best-selling brands with their audiences in major retailers across the UK.
Each SMG agency - Capture, Lobster and Threefold - works towards the same vision: to be the leading shopper media group in the UK. We are incredibly united in the way we work towards achieving this goal, and through our honest approach to working with our clients and the shopper we have built an enviable client list, with names including Nokia, Nintendo, Armani, Babyliss, McCain, Warburtons, Weetabix and more.
As the business has grown, we have maintained our collaborative approach to work and take pride in ensuring that all of our achievements are shared across our locations and agencies. We live and breathe our values and from day one with SMG, you'll go through various onboarding sessions that will help you get under the skin of the agencies and the way we work.
Celebrating success is a key part of the SMG culture. Every month we are encouraged to nominate both individuals and groups for their achievements and these nominations are categorised against our 5 company values. All nominations are read out during our company meetings and the winner receives a bottle of champagne for their outstanding achievement.
Our offices represent who we are as an agency and we love to make sure each of our locations are a fun and lively place to work. We've always got Spotify playlists on the go and make the most of the opportunity to have a team breakfast, with plenty of fruit and cereal to go round. Friday always means an early finish, with drinks commencing an hour before the end of the day.
At SMG, we value talent over experience. We'll make sure we equip you with the skills you need to excel your career with us. From day one, you'll be given real business exposure and responsibility, joining an energetic and driven team who are on hand to support you as you get to grips with managing your client portfolio.
I joined in 2009, having graduated from Royal Holloway with a degree in English and Drama, and I’ve now progressed to be Group Client Director of our Capture business.
I’d had some previous work experiences in the industry of advertising and marketing. When I came across Capture online I got a good feel for it, and that was confirmed on the [assessment] day.
I knew I wanted to move back to the UK to start my career here. I was open to moving anywhere in the UK, but after going to the graduate assessment day I was offered a role in Manchester and knew that’s where I wanted to be.
‘SMG’ stands for ‘Shopper Media Group’, and that’s exactly what we do. We were founded in 2008 by two guys from Dunnhumby, who were spearheading the development of Tesco’s media estate when they saw a gap in the market for an agency that specialised in shopper media and really understood the complexities behind executing a successful campaign.
Since then, we have grown across three separate agencies and locations, with over 1000 successful campaigns under our belt in less than ten years.
Our founders experienced first-hand the struggle of finding that first graduate job, and in response to this we make sure that giving opportunities to young people is at the heart of our recruitment strategy. As a result, our management teams are made almost exclusively of graduates who have grown and discovered their potential in the company.
From just two founders to nearly 100 people, we’re now looking for the next generation of talent. Could it be you?
