2018/2019 has been FareShare’s biggest year yet with a huge increase in the number of community groups benefiting from our service. The number of charities that we support increased to 10,943 and the number of people accessing FareShare food each week rose to 924,325.

The food we redistributed contributed towards 46.5 million meals and saved the charity sector £33.7 million.

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of good food is wasted by the UK food industry every year. At the same time, millions of people are struggling to afford to eat. Our work addresses these two issues by redistributing food industry surplus, which would otherwise go to waste, to the people who need it most.
